  A F M Yeahyea Choudhury

  Chairman

  Bangladesh NGO Foundation

BNF was established by the GoB under the Resolution dated 2nd December 2004 with a view to achieving MDG by primarily financing NGOs and other CBOs for providing social services and any other services for the poor, the ultra poor, women, children and ethnic minorities. The Organizations receiving funds from BNF shall be known as Partner Organizations. BNF is based on an unprecedented efforts to implement grant program initiated and developed on the theme- Poverty and Development. BNF brings together the voices of the poor people working under the direct supervision of NGOs. BNF works with the poor pursing the realities of their lives. From BNF, we try to know how do poor people view poverty and wellbeing. What are their problems and priorities. What is their experience ot the institutions, of the State, of the markets and the civil societies, How are gender relations work within households and communities. What poor people share with us is polarizing. Poor people care many of the same thing; all of us care about: Happiness, Family, Children, Livelihood, Peace, Security, Safety, Dignity and Respect. From the perspective of the poor people, corruption, irrelevance and abusive behavior often mar the formal institutions of the Society. NGOs, too, realize mixed rating for the Poor. Poor people would like NGOs to be accountable to them. Poor Peoples’ interaction with traders and markets are stamped with their power lessens to negotiate few pares. How then poor people survive. What can be more important than listening to the poor and working with our partners all over the country to respond to their concern. Our core mission is to help poor people succeed to their efforts. We are ready to be accountable to them. Today the voices of the poor is ÒCan any one hear us?” From BNF, let us tell the Poor, the Poorest of the Poor of Bangladesh that we are here to hear you, We shall hear you, We are with you.
